For councils:
Council only needs to obtain quotes as Local Government Procurement (LGP) has been prescribed under s55 of the Local Government Act 1993 (NSW), allowing councils to utilise supply arrangements coordinated by LGP without the need to go to tender in their own right.
‘Prescribed’ means LGP is named in the Local Government (General) Regulation 2005 (NSW) and as such councils do not need to go to tender.
Our comprehensive legal, due diligence and probity systems ensure that LGP’s contracts are established only after a full tendering process that complies with all requirements of the Local Government Act 1993 (NSW) and the Local Government (General) Regulation 2005 (NSW). This approach provides you with the assurance that suppliers are only added to LGP panels following a comprehensive and compliant evaluation and acceptance process.
