Question
:
Q1. Can Council confirm whether the Aboriginal site/relic does require further investigation as suggested in the review of heritage impact tender document, if so, is this likely to have any impact on the program?
Q2. One of the proposed mitigation measures is to have a local Elder onsite during the excavation process, will Council organize and procure these services? The same question applies to an onsite archeologist.

Q1. Can Council confirm whether the Aboriginal site/relic does require further investigation as suggested in the review of heritage impact tender document, if so, is this likely to have any impact on the program?
A1.In accordance with the REF, this is considered a low risk site for Aboriginal relics/ sites. Further to this, the geotechnical report shows that there is approximately a meter of fill over the site. If a relic is found it would be a latent condition.
Q2. One of the proposed mitigation measures is to have a local Elder onsite during the excavation process, will Council organize and procure these services? The same question applies to an onsite archeologist.
A2. The mitigation of having a local Elder on site during the excavation process would only be after a relic has been found on site, and therefore would be considered unlikely. If this was the case it would be a variation to the contract. Council will however notify UNE’s Archaeologist regarding the works and he may want to visit to inspect the site. We ask that the Contractor induct him or his representatives on to site and let him inspect the works.
Kind Regards

Question
:
Hi,
Can you please reconfirm the expected award date?
From the meeting yesterday, i got the impression it would be end of Feb, however Vendor panel States 10 March.
Thankyou,
Answered on 10/Jan/2025 04:02 PM
:
The award of this Tender will be by Council in accordance with the Local Government Act, and take place at a ARC Council Meeting, which typically takes place later in the month. This will also rely on a number of issues that may arise that the evaluation panel will need to address in its recommendation. Council will endeavor to finalise at this stage by The February Ordinary Council Meeting (at the earliest) or most probably the March 20025 Ordinary Council Meeting.

Question
:
Good Moring Lizzie,
We are writing to formally request an extension of time for the submission of Tender A2024/85 Curtis Park Expansion. The current due date of 27th January 2025 falls during a period when contractor responses and quotes have been limited due to the time of year.
To ensure we can provide a comprehensive and competitive submission, we kindly request an extension of two weeks, with a revised due date of 10th February 2025.
We believe this additional time will enable us to secure the necessary contractor inputs and prepare a thorough tender that aligns with the project requirements.
We appreciate your understanding and consideration of this request and look forward to your response. Should you need further clarification, please do not hesitate to contact us.
