Question:
Will a HDPE Fernco Flap Valve be approved as an alternative to the Duckbill valve?

Answered on 16/Jan/2025 02:46 PM:

A flap valve is not recommended at this location due to sand movement and potential for the flap valve to be blocked/not open.

A duck bill will permit water to exit the valve even half buried (likely to occur here).
