The Torres Strait Island Region is a local government area in Far North Queensland, Australia, covering part of the Torres Strait Islands. It was created in March 2008 out of 15 autonomous Island Councils during a period of statewide local government reform. It has offices in each of its 15 communities, and satellite services in Thursday Island and in Cairns (which are outside of the region).

JOB SUMMARY GUIDELINES

Please refer to the following information when completing the job summary.

PLEASE NOTE: Each line item in the preliminaries is to only be filled if works are required for that item. e.g Approvals & Compliance – If there are no council, consultancy, gas compliance, electrical compliance fees incurred, this section must be left blank.

SITEWORKS/SERVICES – Shipping containers for tenant items, portaloo, portable ensuites, external lighting, silt fencing, sandbags etc.

WH&S – Site fencing, scaffolding, signage, barricades, tiger tails for power lines, street closures.

FREIGHT - Transport of materials, tools, site specific equipment.

TRAVEL - Transport of personnel to jobsite, car/ute rental (excludes contractors who currently reside in local communities where works are being completed).

ACCOMODATION - Overnight stays for contractors as required for duration of works (excludes contractors who currently reside in local communities where works are being completed).

APPROVALS & COMPLIANCE – Any expenses incurred obtaining approvals from relevant authorities and/or adhering to industry regulations e.g council fees, gas compliance, electrical compliance, consultancy fees.

WASTE DISPOSAL – Includes dumping fees, skip fees, transport from building site to waste facility.

OTHER – Any other works not identified in the above. When using this space, please specify. e.g tenant accommodation x 4 days
